On Thursday, 26 April 2018, a memorial service was held, in honour of the 603 Arkadian Officers and Soldiers who fell in action, during the 1940-1941 operations, at the Tripolis Arkadians War Memorial; the memorial service was attended by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis.
The Memorial was built in 2004, so that people remember and honour the fallen Arkadians, during the aforementioned military operations at the 11 Infantry Regiment Camp (‘ARGYROKASTRO’). The memorial was constructed by the initiative of Mr Argyris Petronotis, architect and professor in Thessaloniki Aristotelion University. With the contribution of the Hellenic Army General Staff and the support of the local authorities, its face-lift was completed and the public can now visit it.
The local religious and political authorities, members of Formation Units, representatives of the Security Forces and relatives of the fallen Arkadians attended the ceremony.
