From 08 to 09 October 2024, in the presence of the Commanding General of the 1st Army/ΕU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstandakos, festivities were conducted for the 112th Anniversary of the Battle of Sarantaporo, at the Amphitheatre of the 1st Army/ EU-OHQ “Lieutenant General THOMAS ADAMOS” and at the Monument of the “Balkan Wars Military Museum” – CHATZIGOGOS CHANI (INN)” correspondingly.
More specifically, the festivities included a speech by the former Minister of Civil Protection and Honorary Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, General (ret.) Haralambos Lalousis, a memorial service, and the laying of wreaths at the Monument of the “Balkan Wars Military Museum” – CHATZIGOGOS CHANI (INN)” by the Commanding General of the 1st Army/ΕU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS”, Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstandakos .
The festivities were attended by the Mayor of Elassona, Mr. Nikolaos Gatsas, the Metropolitan of Elassona, Mr. Hariton, the former Minister of Civil Protection and Honorary Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, General (ret.) Haralambos Lalousis, the Regional Coordinator of Civil Protection for the Region of Thessaly and Honorary Commanding General of the 1st Army/ EU-OHQ, Mr. Ilias Leontaris, the Honorary Commanding General of the 1st Army/ EU-OHQ, Mr. Dimokritos Zervakis, the Honorary Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, General (HAF) ret. Georgios Blioumis, the Deputy Head of Region for Larissa, Ms. Maria Galliou, the Mayor of Tembi, Mr. Georgios Manolis, representatives of the Local Government, active duty and retired officers of the Armed and Security Forces, and other guests.
