On Wednesday, May 23rd 2018, within the framework of pride and outreach actions of Army Formations, an event was held at the HQ of the Centers Command (“PELOPONNISOS” IV Infantry Division) in Tripoli, to honor the World War II Veterans, in cooperation with the Cavalry and Armour Retired Officers’ Association.
The following Veterans, who fought on the Albanian front during the 1940 – 1941 Operations, were awarded for their contribution to the Nation’s struggles:
• Reserve Sergeant (Cavalry-Armour) Angelopoulos Ilias, aged 104 years old;
• Reserve Corporal (Cavalry-Armour) Kolliopoulos Georgios, aged 103 years old.
Furthermore, within the framework of the above action, the following took place:
• Projection of audiovisual material;
• Visit to the Monument to the fallen Arcadian persons during 1940 – 1941 Operations;
• Memorial Service – Wreath laying;
• Pilgrimage to the Holy Church of Cosmas of Aetolia.
