On Thursday, 12 April, 2008, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis met with the Ambassador of Austria to Athens, Ms. Andrea Ikić – Böhm who was accompanied by Austria’s Defence Attaché to Greece Colonel (ARMY) Nikolaus Rottenberger. During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest.
Afterwards, Ms. Andrea Ikić-Böhm and Colonel (ARMY) Nikolaus Rottenberger visited the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) and they were briefed on its organisation and operation, on the military training and the academic education, the international activities and cooperations, as well as on the outreach activities of the Academy.
The Ambassador, during the visit:
– discussed with the three Austrian cadets who are hosted in the Academy since they participate in a Military Erasmus together with other foreign cadets from five foreign military academies and they exchanged views on matters regarding the significance of the provided training in establishing a common understanding among young Officers.
– She attended an exhibition by the Drill Team, the Climbing Team, the Boxing Team and the Tug of War Team of the Academy.
