On Tuesday, 13 November 2018, in the context of the Army’s social contribution, specialized personnel (EOD mine clearance specialists) of the Land Minefield Clearance Battalion assisted, upon a relevant request, with the reconnaissance of a war material (ammunition) that was found during earthworks performed in a main street of the Municipality of Ilion.
After considering the safety of citizens and facilities, the minesweepers proceeded to the reconnaissance, clearance and collection of 7 120lb. bombs and 2 bomb fuzes, which have been neutralized at a Range in Attika.
