On Friday, 4 September 2026, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Epirus and Macedonia/NRDC-GR “MEGAS ALEXANDROS”, Lieutenant General Grigorios Bountliakis, visited the Hellenic Army War College at Camp “NTALIPI” in Thessaloniki, in the presence also of the Army Inspector General/Commander EL EU-OHQ, Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos. The Chief gave a short address and provided guidelines to the students of the 15^th Training Class, stressing the importance of mission command.

The Chief then visited the headquarters of the 71^st Airmobile Brigade “PONTOS” at Camp “Hatziioannou II” in Nea Santa, Kilkis, and the National Urban Warfare Operations Centre of Excellence at Camp “Koromila”, where he was briefed on their operational and training activities, gave a short address, and provided guidelines to the personnel.
