On Wednesday 24 June 2026, the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikos Dendias, accompanied by the Chief HNDGS, General Dimitrios Choupis, and the Chief HAGS, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, attended the 1st Reservist Refresher Training Centre opening ceremony at the Newly Recruited Soldier Training Centre of Avlonas in Camp “MELIDI”.
Among others, the ceremony included a blessing ceremony, a presentation on the mission of the Reservist Refresher Training Centre by the Director of HAGS/A4, Brigadier General Grigorios Zacharopoulos, a presentation of audiovisual material, a demonstration of reservist training in drones, and a tour of the simulation hall, where the theoretical and practical training takes place.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the Supreme Military Council, HAGS Branch and Directorate Directors, active duty and retired officers of the Armed Forces, reservists, and other guests.
