On Friday, 12 June 2026, the Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikos Dendias, accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, attended the foundation laying ceremony of the Unmanned Systems Manufacturing Plant in Malakasa, Attica.

The ceremony included, among others, a blessing, a presentation of the project by the Director of C Branch of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Major General Dimitrios Kourkoulakos, audiovisual material, a UAS swarm demonstration, and the laying of the foundation plaque.

The ceremony was also attended by the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras HN, the Deputy Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (HAF) Vasilios Broumas, as representative of the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (HAF) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, members of the Supreme Military Council, HAGS Branch and Directorate Directors, Armed Forces officers, and other guests.
