On Wednesday, 1 June 2025, a ceremony was held by a delegation of the Hellenic Army General Staff for the repatriation of the remains of the fallen Greek servicemember Charalambos Samlian from Larnaca Airfield in Cyprus to Chrysoupoli Airfield, close to the hometown of the fallen, Keramoti, Kavala.

The homecoming ceremony of the bones at Chrysoupoli Airfield included, among others, a memorial service at the church of the Chrysoupoli Air Force Detachment, while the funeral service and unveiling ceremony of the Memorial for Charalambos Samlian at Keramoti, Kavala, is scheduled for Friday, 13 June 2025.
