On Monday 19 May 2025, at the presence of Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, an Event on the occasion of the Genocide of the Pontian Greeks was held at the Hellenic Army Academy (HAA) at Vari-Attica.

At the beginning of the event, a speech was addressed by the American writer and painter, of Assyrian and Pontian-Greek origin, Thea Halo.

In the context of the event, the cadets of the Academy presented speeches on the subject of the Genocide of the Greeks of Pontus, and the choir of Evelpides sang traditional songs, complemented by traditional dances.
