On Thursday, 15 May 2025, on the occasion of the International Day of Families and within the framework of the declaration of 2025 as “Year dedicated to recognising the role of and honouring the families of military personnel”, an event was held in the “Major (HAF) Dimitrios Kamberos” Hall at Camp “PAPAGOU”. The keynote speaker was Rev. Vasilios Thermos, who holds a PhD from the Theological School of Theology of the University of Athens and is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, who spoke on the subject “Family: Where do we stand? Where do we want to be?”.

The event opened with short addresses from the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, and the General Secretary for Demography and Housing Policy, Mr. Konstantinos Gloumis – Atsalakis.

The purpose of the event was to highlight the importance of the family as a pilar of the social web. The event included a video message from the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs, Ms. Domna Michailidou.
