On Sunday, 03 June 2018, D Army Corps “THRAKI” completed its mission of contributing to the restoration of flood damage on Samothraki island caused by the heavy rains of September 2017.
D Army Corps “THRAKI” contributed with personnel and machinery in two phases, as follows:
– From 26 September to 21 October 2017: 9 personnel with 4 machinery for 26 days.
– From 16 May to 03 June 2018: 10 personnel with 3 machinery for 10 days.
Army personnel and assets worked on Samothraki island in concert with the local authorities, contributing to the repair of the island’s water grid and roads, which had been damaged by the flood.
