On Tuesday, September 18th 2018, the Commander of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands (“AEGEAS”), Lieutenant General Nikolaos Manolakos, visited the area of responsibility of the 98th Higher National Guard Battalions Command (“ARCHIPELAGOS”) in Lesvos island.
The Commander of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands first visited the Headquarters, where he delivered a speech to the Staff’s personnel and Commands of Units – Independent Sub-units of the Formation.
Then, he visited:
• The 221 National Guard Battalion, which operates as a Conscripts Reception Centre, and attended part of the enlistment procedure of 2018 E’ Enlistment Series Conscripts;
• The headquarters of the B’ National Guard Armored Cavalry Battalion, where he attended a demonstration including maintenance of material and assets;
• The 265 National Guard Battalion, where he attended a training activity.
The smooth operation of the enlistment system for our reserves in the classes of the Army, the high readiness of our militiamen and the exemplary maintenance and operation of Frontline Units was confirmed.
