Army Social Contribution Activities – October 2018 (UXO Clearance by the Land Minefield Clearance Battalion)

During October 2018, the Army, within the framework of its social contribution, provided Army Landmine Clearance Battalion personnel and assets to search 3.1 hectares of land, where 90 mines, 150 pieces of ammunition, 35 hand grenades, 165 detonators, and 1 20 lb air force bomb were found, cleared, and disposed of.
Furthermore, 18 EOD incidents were immediately and successfully handled, during both day and night time, upon request by the competent authorities of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, with 13 pieces of ammunition and 14 hand grenades cleared and disposed of.
The above ammunition, explosives, and devices are mostly remnants of past conflicts, found within the framework of scheduled works.
