On Friday 4 June 21, the Distinguished Visitors Day (DV DAY) of the multinational exercise “STRIKE BACK-21” took place in Korin (Korin Training Area-KTA), Bulgaria.
The exercise was held from 24 May to 7 June 21; the Greek side participated with troops of the XXV Armoured Brigade (“2nd CAVALRY REGIMENT – EFESSOS”) and the 1st Army Aviation Brigade (“KILKIS-LAHANA), the Bulgarian side with the 31 MECH BDE, and the Romanian side with a Light Infantry Platoon. “STRIKE BACK-21” is part of the “SABER GUARDIAN 21” exercise, it includes training on attack operations matters and is a live-fire Field Exercise (LFX LIVEX), at the level of Mechanised Infantry Battalion Tactical Battle Group.
The DV Day was attended by the Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria Mr. Dimitrios Chronopoulos, the Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Charalambos Laloussis, representing the Chief/HNDGS, and the Commander of the D Army Corps “THRACE” Lieutenant General Aggelos Houdeloudis, on the Greek side, the Commander of the U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) General Christopher G. Cavoli on the U.S. side, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, the acting Minister of Defence Georgi Panayotov, the CHOD of Bulgaria Admiral Emil Eftimov, the Commander of the Joint Forces Lieutenant General Lyubcho Todorov, the Commander of the Land Forces Major General Mihail Dimitrov Popov, on the Bulgarian side, and the CHOD of Romania Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, on the Romanian side.
The supreme organisation, training and operational readiness of the troops which participated in the exercise, as well as the excellent level of cooperation of the Units of the participating countries were established.
