Museum of the Hellenic Army Veterinary Service

n the context of promotion of the work of the Hellenic Army Veterinary Service, the Museum of the Hellenic Army Veterinary Service has been operating since 2005 in Larissa, at the “General Nikolaos Plastiras” Camp.

The Museum numbers 1036 exhibits, of which 598 pertain to equestrian materials, 335 to medical materials and 103 to books and manuals, while there is also a rich collection of photographs.

The Museum preserves a remarkable part of the tradition of the Hellenic Army. Furthermore, it recalls to everyone’s memory old specialties of soldiers that have vanished, like those of the mule handler, the re-supplier, the beasts’ medic, the horseshoer, the horseshoe maker and the saddler.
