From 04 to 08 December 2023, within the framework of the Greece – Jordan 2023 Military Cooperation Programme, a training activity was conducted for 2 Officers and 8 NCOs of the Armed Forces of Jordan at Camp “KOROMILA ANDREA” (National Urban Warfare Operations Centre of Excellence) by 71st Airmobile Brigade “PONTOS” personnel on “Close Protection Team” tasks.


The training, which was conducted for the first time, included a briefing on the principles of VIP protection and the basic principles of convoys, followed by practice on sensitive target protection, protection team formations, protection team threat response, rifle fire training, and Close Quarter Battle.

On Monday, 04 December 2023, a ceremony was held at the Artillery School in Camp “Georgiadi Thoma” in Nea Peramos, Attica, to celebrate the Patron Saint of the Artillery, the Great Martyr Saint Barbara, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, as representative of the Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis.

From 27 to 29 November 2023, Artillery Units of the High Military Command of Interior and Islands conducted Anti-Aircraft Artillery Fire Training at the NATO Missile Firing Installation in Crete, which also involved observers from Germany.

In particular, fires were conducted by the OSA-AK and the man-portable MANPAD STINGER weapon systems.

The training’s objective was to familiarise the trainees with actions and procedures simulating the modern operational environment by conducting all types of Anti-Aircraft Artillery fires, thus gaining significant experience in the crewing of weapons systems and the technique, tactics, and observation of fires.

On 28 November 2023, a delegation of 3 officers from the École Nationale Sous Officier D’ Active under its Commandant, Brigadier General Alain Didier, visited the Career NCO School, within the framework of the cooperation between the two countries.


The delegation visited the School's facilities and was briefed on its mission, operation, and the training provided. During the visit, whose objective was to strengthen relations between the two Schools, the two parties discussed matters of mutual interest and examined the prospects for cooperation in the area of training.
