Technical
Corps
The first formed repairs detachment was established after the declaration of the 1821 Revolution in Nafplio in 1825, while from 1910 to 1914, Temporary Repairs Workshops were established in Field Artillery Regiments and the Mountain Artillery Squadrons and new Units were established for the repair requirements of the troops.
In more recent times, in March 1945, it was decided to establish the Army Technical Corps Services, modelled after the British Army and in December of that year the first Army Factory was established under the name “Athens Base Workshops”.
In 1952, the Corps was renamed to Technical Corps and in 1968 it changed its name simply to Technical, maintained up until today. The Technical Corps, with the power it draws from its historic past, is constantly evolving, utilising the current capabilities as well as the rapid developments of science and technology, providing in the most effective and economic way, technical support to the weapon systems and assets of the Army and decisively contributes to the National Defence of our Homeland.

The Technical Corps emblem
The emblem of the Technical Corps, consisting of the key, the screwdriver and the lamp, symbolises the “technical means in service of knowledge”, in combination with the written maxim “ΘΕΛΕΙΝ ΕΣΤΙ ΔΥΝΑΣΘΑΙ”, which translates as “Men can do all things if they will”, it urges and inspires the personnel to fulfil their mission.
The Arm’s insignia, consisting of a wreath of laurels, two guns set crosswise, a cogwheel and a thunder, symbolises the nature of the Corps. The colours of the Technical Corps are red and blue.
