The RT 20 AM Meteorological Station issues standardised meteorological reports for the improvement of the accuracy of Artillery fires.
It is used at the level of Artillery Directorate/Formations and MLRS squadrons to provide standardised meteorological reports for the Artillery, to enhance the accuracy of Artillery fires.
We aim for the proximity of the station to the area of fires (<40 Km) as well as for the short time of transmission of the meteorological reports from the moment the radiosonde is launched (< 2 Hours).
The following meteorological reports are issued:
ΜΕΤ CM, MET B3, MET TA, TEMP FM 35 – ΙΧ and PILOT FM 32 – IX.
Transmission of meteorological data from a great distance, depending on weather conditions.
Transmission of Meteorological Reports to the Fire Direction Centres of the Commands of Artillery Formations/Units.
Issuance of Meteorological Report: every two hours.
Installation of the on-board Meteorological Station, up to 40 km from the fire unit.
Range of Report: Level Terrain: 40 km, Coasts – Rivers – Lakes: 25 km, Mountain Ranges: 15 km.
Time for Setting: 30 minutes
