On Friday 16 May 2025, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands “AIGEAS” Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou and the Commanding General of the 98 Higher National Guard Battalions Command “ARCHIPELAGOUS” Major General Nikolaos Gkretsas, conducted a visit to the Area of Responsibility of the 98 Higher National Guard Battalions Command.

In particular, the Chief visited the HQ of the 98 Higher National Guard Battalions Command “ARCHIPELAGOUS” at “COL (INF) MAVROMICHALIS KYRIAKOS” Camp, Units, Outposts and Military installations.

In the framework of his visit, the Chief observed the Field Training Exercise “The Group of the Mechanised Infantry Company on Coast Defence”, in the area of ASPROPOTAMOS Height, conducted with the participation of personnel and assets of the 98 Higher National Guard Battalions Command.

After the completion of the exercise, the Chief briefly addressed the participants and ascertained the operational readiness and the high level of morale of the exercising personnel.
