On Thursday, 20 June 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the Askos Profitis Proving Ground – Range and the Military Airfield of Alexandria, Imathia, accompanied by the Commanding General of the I Infantry Division “SMYRNI”, Major General Savvas Kolokouris.
During his visit, the Chief attended the operational training conducted by mechanised forces and Special Forces in cooperation with 1st Army Aviation Brigade helicopters.
The visit confirmed the high readiness level, the proper condition of assets, and the high morale of the personnel.
