On Monday, 06 August 2018, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited the Service Support Division in “OPLARHIGOU DIMITRIOU DALIPI” Camp in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, where he was briefed on the progress of the Formation’s goals, according to HAGS’s guidelines. The Chief then addressed the Headquarters personnel, prompting them to:
– seek co-operation with scientific institutions and the academic community.
– use innovation to deal with obsolete perceptions and chronic rigidities.
– make ingenious use of all available logistical resources.
Finally, the Chief went to the Metropolis of Nea Krini and Kalamaria at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Redeemer, where he attended the Divine Liturgy. After the Liturgy, his Eminence, the Metropolitan of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, Mr. Ioustinos, presented the Chief with the Grand Cross First Class of the Great Martyr Saint Eugenios of Trebizond, in recognition of the Hellenic Army’s services to the Nation. The Liturgy and the award ceremony were attended by the Commanding General of C Army Corps/NRDC-GR, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Bikos, state, religious, and local authorities, as well as crowds of people.
