On Thursday, 18 April 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited Units and Surveillance Outposts on the islands Ro, Stroghyli, Meghisti, and Symi, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Georgios Dimitropoulos.
During his visit, the Chief:
– was briefed on current activities.
– visited Unit installations and all Surveillance Outposts.
– inspected the assigned Readiness Troops.
– was given a tour of the Officers’ military housing quarters under construction.
– met with representatives of the local authorities.
– addressed and provided guidelines to the personnel.
