On Monday 03 November 2025, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, accompanied by the Commander of the Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLES” Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos and the Commander of the Supreme Military Command of Epirus and Macedonia / NRDC-GR “MEGAS ALEXANDROS” Lieutenant General Athanasios Garinis, visited the area of responsibility of the Supreme Military Command of Epirus and Macedonia / NRDC-GR.
In particular, the Chief visited the headquarters of the II Mechanized Infantry Division “ELASSON” at “COLONEL ANGELIS GATSOS” Camp in Edessa, the Tactical Command of the 33rd Mechanized Infantry Brigade “SYNTAGMA KYDONION” at “MAJOR GENERAL ALESTAS LOUKAS” Camp in Polykastro, and the 34th Mechanized Infantry Brigade “COLONEL DIALETIS DETACHMENT” at “MAJOR PROKOPIDIS THOMAS” Camp in Assiros.
During his visit, the Chief was toured at the premises and was briefed on the mission, the operational and training activities of Formations; he gave guidelines to the personnel and congratulated it for its work.
