On Thursday, 21 February 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the Area of Responsibility of the 79th Higher National Guard Battalions Command and in particular the Formation Headquarters, where he was briefed on its mission and activities.
He then visited Camps on the island where he addressed the Units’ personnel and inspected the readiness troops.
Among others, he laid emphasis on the realistic training of readiness troops, on constant testing with scenarios corresponding to real situations, on justice in command, as well as on constant assistance to local communities.
