On Monday 09 December 2024, a Seminar entitled “The role of the Aegean Sea in the new geopolitical environment of the Eastern Mediterranean, 120 years after the beginning of the Macedonian Struggle”, took place in the Amphitheatre of the Region of Samos. The Seminar was attended by the Commanding General of the Supreme Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou.

The President of the National Defence Staff Officers Association Board of Directors, Lieutenant General (ret.) Spyridon Belegratis, the Philologist, Historian, and Author Mr. Christos Landros, and the Jurist – International Relations Expert, Dr. Ioannis Papafloratos made speeches during the Seminar.

The Seminar was also attended by his Eminence the Metropolitan of Samos, Ikaria, and Fourni Korseon, Mr. Efsevios, the Deputy Head of Region for North Aegean, Mr. Ioannis Kaltakis, the Mayor of Eastern Samos, Mr. Paraskevas Papageorgiou, the Deputy Mayor of Western Samos, Mr. Ioannis Sagiotis, Representatives of the Local Government, active duty and retired officers of the Armed and Security Forces, as well as other guests.
