On 18 and 19 August 2019, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas paid an official visit to the US Military Forces Headquarters in Europe (USAREUR), in Wiesbaden, Germany, as a guest of the Commander, Lieutenant General Christopher Cavoli.
During the visit, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff visited the Headquarters and the Operations Centre and he was informed on the Headquarters mission and work, as well as on the cooperation with the Hellenic Army. The Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff and the Commander discussed issues regarding the intensification of cooperation between the military forces of our country and those of the USA, through the mutual participation in military training as well as exercises, which are conducted by both sides in the wider Balkan region, having as an objective the further strengthening of the Strategic cooperation.
The visit was conducted under excellent conditions, confirming the outstanding cooperation between the military forces of the two countries. There was convergence of opinions and they agreed on the intensification of cooperation, in the near as well as the distant future.
