From 16 to 20 June 2025, in Thessaloniki, the 57th annual conference of the Leopard Tank Operator Group Steering Committee (LEOBEN) was held, under the aegis of HAGS/Cavalry-Armour Directorate, and with the support of C Army Corps.
The Steering Committee, which is formed by the National Representatives of the Group’s member states, is the supreme instrument of LEOBEN, the mission of which is the assignment and coordination of the works of its particular Task Forces. It is called once annually, while the organisation of the conference is undertaken by the host country, by rotation amongst the member states.
Currently, LEOBEN has 22 m-s, while 2 states are pending membership.
The organisation was judged absolutely successful, since the Hellenic Army was given the opportunity to highlight its active participation, as the participant with the greatest fleet of Leopard Tanks worldwide, and to reinforce our country’s international footprint, since there were 47 in person representatives from 21 countries, from Europe, North and South America, and Asia.
Furthermore, following an invitation by HAGS/Cavalry-Armour Directorate, and in the framework of highlighting local industry, Greek companies which participate in the production of the LEO 2Α6HEL Tank were given the opportunity of presenting to the conference their capabilities, work, and involvement at the co-production of said tank.
