In January 2019, the Hellenic Army contributed to air evacuation operations, using the 1st Army Aviation Brigade Helicopters, for the execution of 20 day and night missions. 26 patients were evacuated from the central and South-eastern Aegean islands to city hospitals.
The Army Aviation helicopters provide the aforementioned services of social contribution on a daily basis, without the least exemption from their engagement in their everyday multiple operational activities (exercises, troops’ transport, surveillance, reconnaissance, etc.).
