On Thursday 17 March 2022, the handover ceremony of the Command of the C’ Army Corps/NRDC-GR “MEGAS ALEXANDROS” by Lieutenant General Anastasios Spanos to Lieutenant General Sotirios Kostakoglou was conducted at the “PEDION AREOS” Camp in Thessaloniki, in the presence of the Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis and the Commander of the 1st Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Interior competent for issues of Macedonia and Thrace Mr Stavros Kalafatis, the Deputy Head of the Region of the Metropolitan District of Thessaloniki Ms Paraskevi (Voula) Patoulidou, the Honorary Chief of HNDGS and former President of the Military Committee of the European Union retired General Michail Kostarakos and the Honorary Chief of National Guard General Staff retired Lieutenant General Ilias Leontaris.
During the ceremony, all the advisable measures for the protection against the COVID-19 pandemic were observed.
