On Friday 20 June 2025, in the presence of the Commanding General of the 1st Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, representing Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis and the Inspector of Army Reorganisation in HNDGS-Formation Coordinator of the Constructions and Natural Disasters Relief Command-Commanding General of the Constructions and Natural Disasters Relief Command Lieutenant General Michail Klouvas, the handover ceremony of the MAN TGS 6×6 vehicle took place. The vehicle is fully equipped for use as the “DEFKALION” Mobile Operations Centre (MOC) for Natural Disasters Relief, for the benefit of the Constructions and Natural Disasters Relief Command of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), at the factory of the “NK TRAILERS TRANSPORTATION MEANS S.A.” company, in the Industrial Area of Volos. The vehicle is a donation by the companies “ARIEXPO ENGINEERING S.A.” and “NK TRAILERS TRANSPORTATION MEANS S.A.”.

After the demonstration of the operational capabilities of the Mobile Operations Centre, the Commanding General of the 1st Army Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, the Inspector of the Army Reorganisation in HNDGS-Formation Coordinator of the Constructions and Natural Disasters Relief Command-Commanding General of the Constructions and Natural Disasters Relief Command Lieutenant General Michail Klouvas and the representatives of the companies “ARIEXPO ENGINEERING S.A.” and “NK TRAILERS TRANSPORTATION MEANS S.A.” Mr Alexandros Giannakakis and Mr Nikolaos Kioleidis, respectively, gave speeches.

The following individuals honoured the ceremony with their presence: the former Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection and MP of Magnesia Mr Christos Triantopoulos, the Metropolitan of Dimitriada and Almyros Ignatios, the Deputy Mayor of Volos Mr Aris Savvakis, representing the Mayor of Volos Mr Achilleas Beos, the Honorary Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General (ret.) Aggelos Houdeloudis, the Vice Regional Governor of the Magnesia and Sporades Region Ms Anna-Maria Papadimitriou, Officers of the Armed and Security Forces, representatives of the Local Self-government and other guests.
