On Tuesday 21 October 2025, in the Presence of the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff Dimitrios Choupis, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the MP of the Western Athens Constituency Mr Dimitrios Kalogeropoulos, as representative of the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament and the Most Beloved Bishop of Christoupoli father Varnavas Theocharis, as representative of His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All of Greece Mr Ieronymos B΄, at the “Grande Bretagne” Hotel, the presentation event of the historical volume titled “General Headquarters Operations Logbook 1940–1941” took place. The publication was conducted under the responsibility of the Army History Directorate and the event took place in the premises where, during World War II, the Hellenic Army General Headquarters was stationed.
The speakers’ panel moderator was the journalist Mr Alexis Papachelas, while speeches were delivered by the Professor Dr Ioannis Papafloratos, the Commandant of the Hellenic Army Academy (Evelpidon), Major General Anastasios Polychronos and the Director of the Army History Directorate Colonel (INF) Komitis Doxakis.
The event included audiovisual material, while the original “General Headquarters Operations Logbook” was showcased in a special display case along with the original book with the Order of the Day of the Field Marshall Alexandros Papagos issued on 29 October 1940 and the original Requisition Protocol of the “Grande Bretagne” Hotel.

The event was concluded with the award of commemorative gifts to everyone involved in its organisation, by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, while a particular moment was the handing of the commemorative copy of the “General Headquarters Operations Logbook 1940–1941” by the Chief of HAGS to Mr Sotirios Kitrilakis, son of Lieutenant General Stylianos Kitrilakis, Honorary Chief of HNDGS, who during 1940–1941, served as Director of the 3rd Staff Office of the General Headquarters and was the one responsible for the drafting and keeping of the said Operations Logbook.
