On Friday, 26 January 2024, in the presence of the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikos Dendias, the D Army Corps “THRAKI” Change of Command ceremony took place at Camp “APOSTOLIDI” in Xanthi, with Lieutenant General
Stavros Papastathopoulos assuming command from Lieutenant General Dimokritos Kostantakos.

The ceremony was attended by MP for Xanthi Mr. Spyridon Tsiligiris, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the Head of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
Mr. Christodoulos Topsidis, the Mayor of Xanthi, Mr. Efstratios Kontos, the Metropolitan of Xanthi and Perithori, Mr. Panteleimon, Members of the Holy Synod, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, His Eminence, the Mufti of Xanthi, Nezden Hemseri, active duty and retired Officers, and other guests.,
