From 31 March to 04 April 2025, the Field Exercise (FTX) “Dimocritos – 25” was conducted at the Exercise – Firing Range at Litochoro, with the aim of giving the opportunity to new Second Lieutenants and Career Sergeants of all Arms and Corps, Class of 2024, to practice their knowledge on defensive and offensive operations, and logistics tasks, under realistic conditions. Troops and assets of the XXIV Armoured Brigade “1st CAVALRY REGIMENT FLORINA”, and the 1st Army Aviation Brigade “KILKIS LACHANA” also participated in the FTX.

In the course of the FTX, the Second Lieutenants and Career Sergeants were trained on the field, on subjects regarding firings, defensive and offensive operations, techniques of crossing water obstacles by footbridges, developing Brigade Support Area and the heavy technical equipment recovery procedure.

On Friday 04 April 2025, in the presence of the Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the final phase of the Exercise took place, with the conduct of FTX “Mechanised Infantry Company Group Defence and Armoured Company Group Counterattack” with real fires. The final phase of the exercise was also observed by the Commanding General of the 1st Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, the Commanding General of the C Army Corps/NRDC-GR “MEGAS ALEXANDROS” Lieutenant General Athanassios Garinis, as well as the Directors of the Directorates of Arms and Corps of the Hellenic Army General Staff, whose Second Lieutenants participated in the exercise.

After the conclusion of the exercise, the Chief made a brief address to the participating Second Lieutenants and Career Sergeants, highlighting the importance of developing a spirit of cooperation, creating common experiences and practicing knowledge on technical and tactical training.
