From Monday 14 to Friday 18 September 2020, the Competition of Tank Platoons was held between Armored Units possessing LEO2 tanks (A4 and HEL), with the participation of a unit of the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) at the Firing Range in Petrochori – Xanthi.
The Platoons were assessed in operational procedures with measurable objective criteria, which focused on small-scale tactics, shooting technique and technical issues of tanks.
The final ranking of the Platoons is a combination of the time needed for each crew to complete the tests, depending on the individual grading of their skills and especially the accuracy of shots of the tanks’ crews.
Throughout the competition, the effort, passion and knowledge on the subjects by the contestants, as well as the high level of training and operational readiness of the staff, were displayed.
