On Friday, 01 February 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff Change of Responsibility ceremony took place in the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) in Vari, Attica, with Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas assuming responsibility from General Alkiviadis Stefanis.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Evangelos Apostolakis, the Alternate Minister of National Defence, Mr. Panagiotis Rigas, the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection, Ms. Ekaterini Papakosta – Sidiropoulou, the Special Secretary of the Ministry of National Defence, Ms. Kalliopi Papaleonida, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General (HAF) Christos Christodoulou, the Chiefs of Hellenic Air Force and Navy General Staff, representatives of civilian and political authorities, representatives of foreign Chiefs of Defence, Honorary Chiefs and Senior and General Officers of the Armed Forces, delegations of personnel from all three Services of the Armed Forces and the Unions of Retired Officers, retired Officers, and other guests.
