On Wednesday, 23 July 2025, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, visited Units in the Hellenic Army Support Command’s Area of Responsibility.

In particular, the Chief visited the Armour Training Centre in Avlonas, Attica, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Hellenic Army Support Command “THISEAS”, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Vakentis, where he was welcomed by the Centre’s Commander, Brigadier General Konstantinos Kossioris, followed by the Special Forces Training Centre in Nea Peramos, Attica, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Hellenic Special Warfare Command, Lieutenant General Georgios Manouras, where he was welcomed by the Centre’s Commander, Colonel Antonios Mouzopoulos, and addressed the newly enlisted Professional Soldiers currently training there.

In his address, the Chief stressed that the Army is a way of life that requires discipline, professionalism, and a sense of responsibility. He prompted them to continuously improve and upgrade their knowledge, with eagerness and dedication, while he also pointed out that high morale, being presentable, military spirit, knowledge, and skills make up the image of the ideal professional soldier. Finally, he assured them that the Hellenic Army General Staff will always stand beside them in their efforts, enabling them to surely and steadily build their career.

Subsequently, in view of the wildfire season, the Chief visited the 2nd Army Aviation Group at Camp “SPYRIDON DELAPORTAS” in Pachi, Megara, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, where he was welcomed by the Group’s Commander, Colonel Thomas Papaspyrou, and given a briefing on the operational organisation and mission of the 2nd Army Aviation Group’s Units, as well as their work within the framework of social contribution. Finally, he attended part of the training of the V-BAT UAS Basic Operator Course, discussed with and provided guidelines to the instructors and students, and congratulated them for their work.
