On Friday, 09 November 2018, in “LIEUTENANT COLONEL (INF) SVORONOS DIMITRIOS” Camp headquarters, the renaming ceremony of the Camp was held, to “LIEUTENANT GENERAL TZANIDAKIS IOANNIS-LIEUTENANT COLONEL (INF) SVORONOS DIMITRIOS” Camp.
The renaming ceremony was held to honor Lieutenant General Ioannis Tzanidakis and three more members, who were fatally wounded in Sarantaporos area, on 19 April 2017, during a flight with an Army helicopter.
The Commander of 1st ARMY/EU-OHQ, LIEUTENANT GENERAL DIMOKRITOS ZERVAKIS, the local religious and political authorities of Litohoro city and family members of Lieutenant General Tzanidakis attended the ceremony.
