The Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas awarded Staff Sergeant (ENG) Efstratios Kirkoglou and Mr Ion – Ioannis Antonakis, former soldier who had served in the Landmine Clearance Battalion, on Friday 19 July 2019. The aforementioned individuals took the initiative to manufacture a device for remote disarming and disposing of landmines as well as other functions of great operational value.
The Chief stressed the benefit of such devices, which contribute to the safety of human life, at minimum cost.
