On Tuesday 03 July 2018, in the context of the “We are Proud” event conducted by the Army, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis awarded the Extended Service Volunteer – Armour Master Sergeant Athanasios Daskalopoulos, who finished first at the “FROZEN PEAKS” Ultra-marathon. The “FROZEN PEAKS” mountain race was conducted from 24 to 27 May 2018, in the area of Nevrokopi – Drama and its route covers a total distance of 265 kilometres.
With this success our colleague demonstrates, in the best possible way, that tireless daily effort, morale and fighting spirit are rewarded. With his distinction he gives an excellent example to all the personnel, promoting the Army, the Armed Forces and our Homeland in general.
