During September 2018, the Army, within the framework of its social contribution, provided Army Landmine Clearance Battalion personnel and assets to search 2.56 hectares of land, where 109 mines, 137 pieces of ammunition, 21 hand grenades, 39 M49 trip flares, and 14 detonators were found, cleared, and disposed of.
Furthermore, 8 EOD incidents were immediately and successfully handled, during both day and night time, upon request by the competent authorities of the Ministry of Citizen Protection. 9 hand grenades, 6 pieces of ammunition, 130 cartridges of various types, and 5 MILLS No 36 hand grenade detonators were disposed of.
The above ammunition, explosives, and devices are mostly remnants of past conflicts, found within the framework of scheduled works.
