During October 2018, the Army, within the framework of its social contribution, assisted with helicopters of the 1st Army Aviation Brigade, in the following:
–  16 air evacuation missions day and night for the transport of 25 patients from islands in the central and south-eastern Aegean Sea to hospitals in urban areas;
–  2 exits with airborne fire-fighting mission, 11 hours of flight time and 21 water airdrops in total.
The Army Aviation helicopters provide on a daily basis the above social contribution services, without their daily involvement in multiple operational activities (exercises, troops transportation, surveillance, reconnaissance, etc.) being affected.
