During August 2018, the Army, within the framework of its social contribution, provided 1st Army Aviation Brigade helicopters for:
– 33 day and night aeromedical evacuation missions for the transportation of 49 patients from islands of the Central and Southeast Aegean to city hospitals.
– 13 sorties on aerial firefighting missions, flying a total of 64 hours and conducting 232 water drops.
Army Aviation helicopters carry out the above social contribution activities in addition to their multiple everyday operational involvements (exercises, troop transportation, surveillance, reconnaissance, etc.).
