On Friday, 19 April 2019, the annual memorial service and wreath laying was held at the Memorial site in honour of the four Hellenic Army Officers who were mortally wounded in action on 19 April 2017 in Sarantaporo, Elassona, while flying on an Army Aviation helicopter.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, the Commanding General of the Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Floros, families of the fallen, representatives of the local, political, and religious authorities, as well as crowds of people.
