From 08 until 11 December 2025, Artillery and Infantry Units conducted fire training at the Petrota Range in Komotini with personnel, weapon systems and assets of the Artillery and Infantry Units of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace “THRACE”.

The training, which was conducted day and night using the “SHOOT AND SCOOT” process, included all the required fire request, coordination and delivery procedures, with particular emphasis on the cooperation of Firing Units with the Counter-Mortar – Counter-Artillery radars, as well as on battlefield surveillance and target detection procedures using the existing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems.

Specifically, fires were delivered by Self-Propelled M109 A3GEA2 and PzH 2000 GR howitzers, RM-70 Multiple Rocket Launchers and 4,2” Mortars.

The activities were attended by the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace “THRACE”, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos, who confirmed the high level of operational training of the personnel regarding the technical and tactical use of the weapon systems during fire delivery.
