The Army’s participation in international missions constitutes a critical
aspect of strategic approach, enhancing international security and
contributing to the promotion of the values of peace and stability. Through
international organisations, the Hellenic Army joins multinational forces,
contributing to the effective countering of challenges at an international
level. With professionalism and devotion, the Hellenic Army participates in
peace support, humanitarian and training missions, making certain its
contribution to the world security.

The Peace Support Operations, in which the Hellenic Army has participated in the last decade of the 20th century and which continue in the beginning of the 21st century, have indicated that the Hellenic Armed Forces can adapt rapidly and effectively to any new scenarios and requirements, concerning the International Community.
The Hellenic Army is also cooperating with various other international
organisations, contributing to the shaping of secure and stable regional
conditions, the promotion of humanitarian aid, restitution after natural
disasters and the training of other countries’ personnel for the
enhancement of their capability in the field of security.

Participation in multinational exercises
In the context of outreach and international promotion of the
combativeness and enhanced operational capabilities of our Homeland’s
Army, the Hellenic Army General Staff organises, coordinates and
participates in multinational exercises with the Armed Forces of Allies and
Partners. These actions, integrated in the context of bilateral and
multilateral military agreements, contribute to the enhancement of the
personnel’s professional expertise, they contribute to the mutual
understanding of participants in current trends in training and the conduct
of modern operations. At the same time, interoperability is improved, in the
context of our allied obligations, so we can ultimately have a more effective
countering of regional crises and the preservation of a stable security
environment.
Participation basically includes exercises/actions with or without troops,
training on peace-keeping missions’ subjects, counter-terrorism, crises
management, Natural Disasters management and the consequences
caused by climate change.
