On Tuesday 04 February 2025, in the presence of the Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Dendias, the Chief/Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, and the Chief/Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the presentation of the “Modern Fighter” upgrade programme was held at the “Major General Alexandros Xiros” auditorium of the Hellenic Army Academy (Evelpidon), in Vari, Attica.

The programme aims to upgrade current equipment issued to fighters in order for them to respond to the modern and ever-changing battlefield. The upgrade structure rests on five levels, namely survival, communication, awareness, agility, and firepower.

Also in attendance were the Chief/HNGS Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, the Chief/HAFGS Lieutenant General (Pilot) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, the Honorary Chief/HAGS General Giorgos Kambas (ret.) Honorary Chief/National Guard General Staff General Georgios Basiakoulis (ret.), representatives of Chiefs of the Security Forces, members of the Supreme Military Council, Cadets, active and retired Officers, NCOs and other guests.
