On Wednesday 23 October 2024, the inauguration ceremonies for the Fallen Officers – Cadets Monument and the History Museum took place in the Hellenic Army Academy. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis. The Fallen Officers – Cadets Monument and the History Museum of the Academy are an exclusive donation to the Army by Mr. Ilias Kyriakidis.
The ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Vari, Voula, Vouliagmeni, Mr Grigorios Konstantellos, the Archimandrite Iakovos Pitsilkas as representative of the Metropolitan of Glyfada, Elliniko, Voula, Vouliagmeni, and Vari, Antonios, the Commanding General of the Hellenic Army Support Command, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Bolomytis, the Commanding General of the National Defence College, Lieutenant General Athanasios Sardellis, the Commanding General of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff Special Warfare Command, Lieutenant General Prokopios Mavraganis, the Honorary Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General (ret.) Dimitrios Skarvelis, the Honorary Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General (ret.) Konstantinos Floros, the former Minister of Civil Protection and Honorary Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, General (ret.) Haralambos Lalousis, Vice Admiral Ioannis Kalogeropoulos as representative of the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, Brigadier General (HAF) Dimitrios Portokalis as representative of the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (HAF) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, active duty and retired officers, as well as other guests.
