During the event, which included speeches on the Macedonian Struggle, its fighters and Pavlos Melas, the White Tower was illuminated and the Greek flag was projected undulating, with the shape of Pavlos Melas, while after the conclusion of the event, his hologram was projected.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Interior for Macedonia and Thrace Mr Gioulekas Konstantinos, representatives of the Parliamentary Parties, the Mayor of Thessaloniki Mr Stelios Aggeloudis, the Regional Councillor of Central Macedonia Ms Olia Vasilaki – Karozi as representative of the Head of Region for Central Macedonia, the dean of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Mr Charalambos Feidas, the Coordinator of Operations of Central-Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Major General (Fire Service) Theodoros Kosmidis, as representative of the Inspector General of the Fire Service for Northern Greece
