On Wednesday 24 July 2024, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis attended an Event regarding “Intrafamily Violence”, which took place at the amphitheatre of the 401st General Military Hospital of Athens.
The Event was also attended by the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Ms. Sophia Zaharaki, the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (HAF) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, Commodore Sotirios Moraitis HN as representative of the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Officers and NCO’s, and other guests.
The Hellenic Army General Staff organised the event with the purpose of informing the personnel regarding the management of incidents of intrafamily violence, how it is treated by the penal system, as well as incidents against minors.
The Event began with an address by the Director of Hellenic Army General Staff Medical Corps Directorate, Major General (MD) Alkiviadis Kafantogias. The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Ms. Sophia Zaharaki and the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis also made addresses.
The Police Officer and Sociologist who serves in the Intrafamily Violence Management Staff Office of the Police General Directorate of Attica, Ms. Anastasia Iliodromiti, the Military Prosecutor C’ and Deputy District Attorney of Athens Military Court, Ms. Klita I. Sarri, the Psychologist and Coordinator of the Department for Prevention and Sensitisation of Children, Parents, and Teachers of the “To Hamogelo tou Pediou” Organisation, Ms. Ioanna Hardaloupa, and the Special Education Teacher and Headmistress of the 3rd Elementary School of Aspropyrgos, Ms. Natasa Sarri, also made speeches.
The coordinator of the Event was the Director of the Liaison Psychiatry Clinic of the 401st General Military Hospital of Athens, Colonel (MD) Efterpi Mablekou.
